SEOUL, Nov. 22 (Korea Bizwire) – The Yongsan District Office has unveiled a new digital photo booth where visitors can capture their life’s significant moments, from weddings to childbirth, marking a modern upgrade to the traditional government office experience.

The “Yongsan Happiness Photo Zone,” which opened on November 18, features a dedicated digital photo booth installed in the public service center on the second floor of the district office.

The new installation addresses limitations of the previous setup, which only served wedding registration photos and required visitors to use their personal phones in an open space. The upgraded booth offers a private space with a self-photography system, with photo coupons available inside the booth covering the cost of use.

Visitors can choose from 12 different themed backgrounds, including celebratory images for marriages and births, as well as iconic local landmarks such as Namsan, the National Museum of Korea, and Hangang-daero. The booth also offers creative features like decorative stickers, allowing users to personalize their photos.

After selecting a frame and taking up to four shots, users can choose their favorite image and download both photos and videos directly to their smartphones via QR code or email. The images can be easily shared on social media platforms, though physical prints are not available. The booth operates on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“We created this digital photo zone to reflect the current trend of wanting to capture life’s precious moments on social media,” said Park Hee-young, head of the Yongsan District Office.

“We hope this transforms our public service center from a purely administrative space into one where people can create meaningful memories while conducting their official business.”
