SEOUL, Feb. 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Yonhap News TV remained the most-watched cable news channel in South Korea for the 12th consecutive month in January, marketing researching firms said Thursday.
The 24-hour all-news TV channel affiliated with Yonhap News Agency, South Korea’s key newswire service, posted an average viewership of 1.012 percent last month, retaining its status as the most-viewed cable news channel, according to data from Nielsen Korea.
During the period Jan. 22-28, it recorded an average rating of 1.14 percent, a record high for the channel.
“From this year, the viewership ratings are based on data collected from all platforms including paid services like IPTV and Skylife. So the numbers are more accurate, thus meaningful,” a company official said.
