SEOUL, May 8 (Korea Bizwire) – The Incheon International Airport Corp. (IIAC) said Wednesday that arrival duty-free shops, the first of their kind in the country, will open later this month.
The airport operator said two arrival duty-free shops will start operations in Terminal 1 and one in Terminal 2 on May 31.
The duty-free shops handle 10 products such as alcoholic beverages, perfume and cosmetics. Tobacco products are not available in the shops, it said.
SM Duty Free will operate the shops in Terminal 1, and Entas Duty Free will run the shop in Terminal 2, IIAC said.
Last year, the government unveiled a plan to allow duty-free shops in arrival terminals in a bid to reduce discomfort experienced by tourists and boost domestic consumption.
