SEOUL, Dec. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — Delivery Hero, a Germany-based online delivery service provider, said Thursday that it has developed artificial intelligence (AI) technology that screens out fake reviews.
The technology developed by Delivery Hero Korea, which runs the delivery apps Yogiyo and Baedaltong, is a deep learning-based automatic classification AI process model that filters out fake food photo views and increases the accuracy of reliable reviews for consumers to refer to.
The model goes beyond simply recognizing things and filters out false photo views with accuracy of up to 96 percent.
The growing delivery market in the restaurant industry has raised the importance of food reviews, and reviews have a significant impact on whether customers order again or not.
However, some users are attaching pictures unrelated to food only to benefit from the writing a review with photos, which has become an issue.
“The AI service is designed to be a process model that is specialized in recognizing photos within delivery apps,” said Delivery Hero Korea.
“This technology can also be used for various e-commerce services, and we will be able to detect false reviews that hurt the consumer experience commercially and ethically, and effectively respond to them,” the development team noted.
