SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — KEPCO KDN Co., a power information technology solution provider that is wholly owned by state-run power company KEPCO, announced Tuesday the launch of a social value measurement system system that measures the fulfillment of social values carried by various projects at the company.
It is the first of its kind to be developed in the public sector.
The KDN-Social Value Based Accounting (SVBA) uses a variety of data to measure the company’s social output in currency terms.
These measurements can be used to maximize the company’s social value, KEPCO KDN explained.
The system will go through a trial period for the early half of the year, after which it will be introduced in various workplaces.
This system can estimate the aggregate social value of all project phases, from planning to realization.
The system also analyzes the social performance of various projects that have been completed, and compares the results with other projects in terms of social value.
KEPCO KDN plans to use data derived from the SVBA system to link with other business strategies to set annual quotas for social value performance, and apply them to management staff as well as partner agencies.
