ULSAN, Nov. 7 (Korea Bizwire) – An anonymous donor has given piggy banks worth over 50 million won to an educational foundation, in a move that warmed hearts.
According to the Buk District Office in Ulsan, an individual who wished to remain anonymous recently donated scores of piggy banks that had been filled up over four decades to a local educational foundation.
Officials at the foundation found over 51 million won after counting all the coins and banknotes from over 200 piggy banks in various shapes and forms.
Sources have reported that the donor didn’t know how much was inside the piggy banks, but asked the foundation to spend the money to help those in need.
The donor’s personal information including name, age, address and occupation remain anonymous, as wished.
“The donor has been collecting coins for more than four decades to help people in need, and decided to donate to the Buk District Educational Foundation in the hopes of having the donation reach the right hands,” an official at the foundation said.
The donations will be used to give scholarships to children form low-income households and improve the education system in the region, after approval from both the board directors at the foundation and the local education office.
