SEOUL, Dec. 19 (Korea Bizwire)A college bulletin board posted a job recruitment notice that suggested a good salary and comfortable employment conditions.

However, it contained an ingenious twist.

On Tuesday, a notice was posted on the Daegu Catholic University bulletin board and social media sites such as Facebook that offered a salary of more than 3 million won (US$2,575) per month.

Anyone could apply for the job, as it did not require previous work experience and did not have any academic or age restrictions.

However, when potential applicants access the corresponding QR code at the bottom of the ad, an unexpected poster appears, part of a public campaign to raise awareness of sexual slavery during the Japanese occupation of Korea.

The poster with a pink background reads, “In 1930, they were fooled (like you),” along with a picture of a comfort women statue.

The poster goes on to say, “Korean women were taken away from their family under fake recruitment pretenses to serve the Japanese military in sexual slavery,” which is obvious forced labor.

The notice was reportedly written by a student in the department of journalism and advertising at the school. It is gaining huge attention as it has gone viral after becoming popular on various online communities.

“We understand that the notice was produced by a student individually, not as a school campaign or class assignment,” the university said.
