SEOUL, Oct. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – As the Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that the peak of this year’s fall foliage would be early November in Seoul’s downtown area, with Mt. Bukhan in the north of the city turning fully red and yellow about a week earlier, the Seoul city government published on October 23 “Seoul’s Best 94 Places to Enjoy Autumn Leaf Color” (http://www.seoul.go.kr/campaign2014/autumn) on its official website.
Smartphone users can also look it up through “Smart Seoul Map” which gives you information with a simple touch of the icons on the map. The map is available for download on any app store.
In order for the citizens to enjoy the sound of stepping on the fallen leaves, the city authorities won’t clean them up until mid-November. The 94 attractions are classified into four categories: romantic paths along waterways (14 locations); places ideal for family outing (13); fall foliage trails inside park areas (18); and stroll ways near you (49).
Of these, the 15 walkways in Hyoja Road (Jongno District), Gwangnaru Road (Gwangjin District), the trail to Mt. Gaewun (Seongbuk District), and the like were listed on “Best 94 Places” for the first time. Other places such as Namsan No. 1 Ring Road, World Cup Park Ring Road, and the embankment road along the Jungnang Stream were also picked as “Top-ten Places to Go in Seoul.”
