SEOUL, March 1 (Korea Bizwire) — The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization said Tuesday they have designated five cities as those specializing in night tours through public competition.
Busan and Daejeon were designated as international attraction cities and Gangneung (Gangwon Province), Jeonju (North Jeolla Province) and Jinju (South Gyeongsang Province) were named as growth support cities.
International attraction cities are those that have the potential to become world-class night tourism cities on the back of advanced tourism infrastructure.
The growth support cities are those that can attract domestic tourists and drive regional growth through distinguished tourism content.
With the latest section, the number of cities specializing in night tours nationwide increased to seven, including Incheon (international attraction city) and Tongyoung (growth support city), which were designated in 2022.
