JEONJU, March 16 (Korea Bizwire) — Jeonbuk National University said Wednesday it will export Korean traditional houses known as “hanok” to France.
The university and the K-Garden Association in France signed an agreement a day earlier.
The association was established in June of last year in response to a request from the French senate to meet the needs arising from an evolving ecology and cultural project centered on Korean gardens.
K-Garden Association chairman Régis Juvigny is an internationally acclaimed landscaping expert who is also in charge of landscaping at the Palace of Versailles.
Based on the agreement, the two sides will work on building Korean traditional pagodas and gardens in major cities in France.
The university has exported hanok to Vietnam, Algeria and the United States in the past.
