SEOUL, March 17 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean job seekers picked the so-called “pressure interview” as the most difficult and disliked job interview type, a survey showed Thursday.
Online education service provider Eduwill conducted a survey of 119 job seekers in their 20s and 30s, 56.8 percent of whom picked the pressure interview as the job interview type that they were most reluctant to have.
In response to a question asking why pressure interviews were unpleasant, most of the respondents said they make them anxious and nervous.
Some respondents said they have a negative feeling about pressure interviews since they push people to extreme situations.
Following pressure interviews were unusual interviews such as mountain climbing and drinking at 39.6 percent, discussion interviews at 36 percent, presentation interviews at 23.4 percent, and reverse interviews, a process where the candidate takes the role of the interviewer, at 18.9 percent.
At 38.7 percent, more than one third of the job seekers said they spent less than 100,000 won (US$76.70) to prepare for an interview, and 36.4 percent said that they spent four to seven days on average to prepare for an interview.
