SEOUL, March 27 (Korea Bizwire) — Brazilian Ambassador to South Korea has adopted an abandoned dog once cared for by an animal protection agency in Seoul.
Nico, a mixed breed that was living at the Seoul Animal Care Center, was adopted on Friday by the Brazilian Ambassador to South Korea Marcia Donner Abreu.
The dog will now live in the ambassador’s residence.
Nico was rescued by a local animal protection agency in January of this year.
Due to a lack of potential adopters, the dog was placed on standby for euthanasia and was sent to the Seoul Animal Care Center last month.
Abreu was already raising two abandoned dogs as pets in Brazil. Since she couldn’t bring them with her, she arranged for them to be adopted by another family.
She contacted the center to adopt an abandoned dog in South Korea.
After several encounters with Nico, she decided to adopt the dog.
