SEOUL, May 11 (Korea Bizwire) — SK Telecom Co., South Korea’s No. 1 wireless carrier, plans to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-based food tech by integrating its technology into the complete process of production, processing, logistics, and sales for agricultural and livestock products.
The mobile carrier said Wednesday it has signed a business agreement with food service company S FOOD Inc. to promote cooperation throughout the entire value chain.
SK Telecom will offer its AI technology to S FOOD’s farms as part of efforts to develop smart farms based on data from breeding environments and livestock behaviors.
Additionally, it will develop a cooperative model for monitoring breeding environments and optimizing the feed mixing ratio using vision AI technology and internet-of-things (IoT) sensors.
The two companies plan to make use of robotics and vision AI technology to develop automatic warehousing, distribution, and a truck control system for logistics centers.
Furthermore, they intend to use AI technology to forecast food ingredient demand and implement automatic ordering systems.
