ULSAN, Oct. 25 (Korea Bizwire) – The Ulsan Crane Dance Preservation Society has announced that traditional Korean dances, including the Ulsan Crane Dance, will grace the stage at the Festival dell’Oriente 2023 Carrara Italy, scheduled from October 21 to 29 in Carrara, Italy.
This festival, spanning 10 cities in Italy, serves as a cultural voyage, showcasing the diversity of Asian arts and traditions. This year, Carrara in the Toscana Province of Italy has the honor of hosting this event.
The Ulsan Crane Dance Preservation Society received a warm response when they presented the Ulsan Crane Dance at a festival in Turin back in March. As a result, they have been graciously invited to perform once more at the Carrara festival.
Over the course of the nine-day festival, the Ulsan Crane Dance Preservation Society will delight the audience with the Ulsan Crane Dance, staging three performances daily, totaling 12 remarkable showcases.
The lineup of these performances features Kim Young-mi, the head of the Ulsan Crane Dance Preservation Society, inheritors of the Ulsan Crane Dance, including Choi Kyung-mi, Choi Hyun-hwa, Kim Eun-joo, Koo Eun-ah, Cho You-an, Chung You-sun, and a group of young, dedicated artists actively contributing to the cultural landscape of Ulsan.
The festival promises a vibrant display of traditional Korean dances, with not only the Ulsan Crane Dance but also the Arirang fan dance, the Jindo drum dance, and the Daegeum Sanjo dance.
In addition, the festival will host traditional performance teams from various Asian countries, including India, Thailand, and China.
Within the festival grounds, visitors can explore promotional booths representing the rich cultures of participating nations. At the Korean pavilion, the Ulsan Crane Dance Preservation Society will showcase the Ulsan Crane Dance and traditional Korean dance costumes.
