SEOUL, Feb. 8 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Electronics announced on February 7 the publication of “Easy-to-Read” booklets for washing machines and microwaves, designed to help slow learners and children with developmental disabilities to use household appliances.
These easy-to-read guides comprise storybooks that explain scientific principles and knowledge that can be discovered through appliances, along with supplements that make it easy to understand and use the products through simple text and illustrations. Reviewed by special education teachers, these materials are highly valuable for use as school textbooks.
Following the positive reception of last year’s easy-to-read guides for refrigerators, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, and TVs, LG Electronics has expanded the series to include washing machines and microwaves this year.
The washing machine guide includes a paper play kit to enhance educational effectiveness, making it easier to learn how to use the appliance intuitively.
LG Electronics plans to make the easy-to-read guides more accessible to a broader audience by producing digital versions and English translations within the year.
Lee Hyang-eun, the head of customer experience strategy at LG Electronics, stated, “We will continue to make diverse efforts to expand accessibility to our products and services so that everyone, regardless of age or ability, can use our products without difficulty.”
