SEOUL, Nov. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Engineers & AHEAD (Samsung E&A), formerly Samsung Engineering Co., said Friday it has received a 301.9 billion-won (US$215 million) deal to build a petrochemical plant in Qatar.
Samsung E&A has set up a joint firm with Taiwan’s engineering services provider CTCI Corp. to obtain the deal from Ras Laffan Petrochemicals, the company said in a statement.
Under the engineering, procurement and construction contract, Samsung E&A and CTCI will jointly build an ethylene storage plant and related facilities in an industrial complex located some 80 kilometers north of Qatar’s capital city Doha by July 18, 2027, it said.
The overall contract is valued at 588.2 billion won, with the remainder allocated for CTCI.
Samsung E&A has bagged 11.5 trillion won worth of orders as of the end of September, achieving 91 percent of its annual target of 12.6 trillion won for 2024.
