SEOUL, Sept. 8 (Korea Bizwire) – By adding three more LED lighting products to its local lineup, including devices that consume less energy and have longer lifespans, LG Electronics hopes to penetrate the domestic LED lighting market and attract more customers.
LG’s new LED room light, the first such LED lighting for residential purposes by LG, is expected to replace existing fluorescent lights in living rooms and bedrooms. With a high light efficiency of more than 100lm/W, the LED light consumes 41 percent less energy and has a lifespan that’s five times longer than existing lighting solutions.
With a tightly closed structure, it can prevent internal contamination by bugs or dust, and can also be operated using a remote control.
LG’s LED downlight products are specialized for offices and alleys with energy efficiency that’s two times higher thanks to heat radiant technology, and a lifespan that’s 3.5 times longer. By introducing a glare shield structure, the new lights offer uniform illumination.
In addition, to approach general customers, the company has expanded its distribution networks. Formerly, it focused on business to business (B2B) trading to sell its lighting products, but now it sells its LED lighting products for home and office usage at local lighting shops.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics is leading the sports lighting market by introducing a ground-breaking lighting solution called the Plasma Lighting System (PLS).
PLS is a new way of lighting that utilizes the principle of light emission through microwaves, which results in the continuous emission of bright light. As it is similar to sunlight and does not flicker like conventional fluorescent lights, it offers a comfortable viewing experience for fans to watch a night game like they watch a daytime game.
An official at LG Electronics said, “By introducing more differentiated products that feature state-of-the-art electronic technologies, we will keep leading the lighting market.”
