SEOUL, Dec.8 (Korea Bizwire) – A Japanese woman who underwent a plastic surgery procedure in Gangnam was found dead a few days later. Police are investigating the case.
According to the Gangnam Police Station, a Japanese woman referred to as ‘A’ visited Korea on November 19, and had a nose job and facial contour surgery on November 21 at a hospital in Gangnam.
‘A’ visited the hospital for a checkup on November 23, but was found dead at her accommodation by an employee of the agency that introduced ‘A’ to the plastic surgery hospital, on November 25.
Police officials guess that ‘A’ died as a result of a drug addiction or because some of the fat that was dislodged during the surgery clogged her arteries. Although the results of the autopsy have yet to be revealed, officials say there have been no signs of medical malpractice confirmed yet.
It was previously revealed that A’s family testified that she quit her job around September or October and started taking medication because of her insomnia.
The police will decide whether to charge the medical staff criminally based on the results of the autopsy.
