Hanwha Life Offers Health Insurance to Low-income Vietnamese Households

SEOUL, May 13 (Korea Bizwire)Hanwha Life Insurance helped the low-income Vietnamese families get medical services by offering them health insurance policies. On May 12, Hanwha Life gave out 1,000 health insurance certificates to the poor households in Ho Chi Minh City. Besides, the life insurer plans to offer a total of 10,422 certificates to the poor families in seven provinces in Vietnam.

There are so many families in Vietnam with no health insurance coverage, which leaves vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children unprotected in medical emergencies. With the insurance certificates that Hanwha offers paying each certificate holder some 80 million won annually, they can get full medical treatment.

Through the campaign, Hanwha Life Insurance expects to raise its brand image in the Southeast Asian country and practice the love of life, the main spirit of the insurance industry.

At the same time, Hanwha plans to build some 40 houses in six provinces in Vietnam and donate them to poor families. It will also build a kindergarten in Hoa Binh Province at the cost of 230 million won.

Advanced into Vietnam in 2009, Hanwha Life is ranked seventh in the Vietnamese life insurance market. As of the end of 2013, with a nationwide network of sales offices in 34 cities, it signed up 13.9 billion won worth of new life insurance policies.
