SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Korea Bizwire) – Prosecution investigators raided Woori Bank’s training center Friday over allegations of unfair hiring of employees, just three days after the bank’s head office was raided.
Investigators from the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors’ Office searched the training center in Anseong, south of Seoul, as part of an investigation into suspicions the bank hired 16 entry-level staff last year who are related to senior government officials, important clients and other influential people.
The investigation came as Woori Bank reported the findings of an internal audit to the watchdog the Financial Supervisory Service, which asked the prosecution to investigate the case. Woori Bank chief Lee Kwang-goo offered to resign last week over the allegations.
The training center is where recruitment interviews were held last year.
The raid came three days after investigators searched the bank’s headquarters.
