Sold as either 24-hour or 48-hour versions, the foreigner-only Discover Seoul Pass grants the holder free entry to 21 major tourist sites in the city and discounts at 13 duty free stores and shows.

The 24-hour and 48-hour passes cost 39,900 won and 55,000 won, respectively. They can also be charged and used as public transportation passes.

Namsan Seoul Tower, Grevin Seoul Museum, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Alive Museum, and the city bus tour that departs from Dongdaemun Plaza were most frequented.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government pointed out that surpassing the 20,000 milestone in sales was very encouraging, especially considering that Japan’s Osaka Amazing Pass and Kansai Thru Pass sold a combined 20,000 in their first year of release.

Next year, medical tourism services like health inspections and skincare, and rides on the nonstop train from Incheon International Airport to Seoul will be included in the perks offered by the Discover Seoul Pass.

Courtesy of SM Entertainment’s agreement with Seoul, limited edition passes with the likenesses of EXO and other K-pop artists will also go on sale.

The Discover Seoul Pass can be purchased at Incheon International Airport, hotels, CU convenience stores, Korea Exchange Bank depots, and at major city attractions.

A mobile pass that can be purchased via smartphone is set to be introduced next year.
