SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Korea Bizwire) – S.M. Entertainment, South Korea’s leading entertainment management agency, said Thursday it plans to hold a yearlong talent audition in 10 countries in 2018.
The 2018 S.M. Global Audition will begin on Jan. 21 at COEX in southern Seoul and be held successively in five other South Korean cities, including Jeonju, Busan and Gwangju, the company said.
The company, home to prominent K-pop stars, such as EXO, Girls’ Generation and TVXQ, said it will later hold scouting events across 45 cities in China, the United States, Canada, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Chile and Argentina until December.
Categories for the audition are singing, dance, acting, modeling and songwriting, and applications are open to anyone regardless of nationality or age, the company said. Applications can be made through the company website, email or the smartphone music application everysing.
S.M Entertainment holds the global audition annually. Successful artists recruited from past auditions include Wendy of Red Velvet, Henry from Super Junior-M and Amber from f(x).
