SEOUL, Jul. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — With the onset of the hot summer weather, sheer clothing that allows just a bit of see-through is becoming all the rage this season.
The online market website Auction revealed yesterday that sales of see-through blouses and vinyl bags during the month of June had increased sharply compared to the same period last year.
A more detailed breakdown saw an eightfold increase in sales of sheer skirts (767 percent increase) while sales of see-through blouses and lace dresses increased by 77 percent and 119 percent, respectively.
Other women’s wear such as lace blouses and lace skirts saw sales jumps of 54 percent and 13 percent, respectively.
As for fashion accessories, transparent bags made of PVC material saw a 61 percent sales increase. Tinted sunglasses that reveal one’s eyes are also a popular “it” item for the summer.
An official at Auction said that sheer fashion has become a dominant trend this summer.
“I think that see-through wear will continue to see increased demand because the fashion is suitable attire for vacation spots,” said the official.
