ULSAN, Aug. 14 (Korea Bizwire) — An arboretum near Taehwa River, designated as a “local garden” by the city of Ulsan earlier in the year, is dyed in purple hues after lily turfs came into full bloom in the area.
The spectacular scene has been impressing visitors as the blooming flowers create an illusion of a silk carpet lying beneath older pine trees.
The city of Ulsan planted 40,000 lily turfs in an area spanning 2,000 square meters. The city also planted 200 crepe-myrtle trees on this year’s Arbor Day.
An official at Ulsan City Hall said that the purple flowers in addition to the rose of Sharon and Confederate rose in full bloom will provide visitors with an endless display of floral wonder.
