SEOUL, Dec. 31 (Korea Bizwire) — Former U.S. President Barack Obama selected “Burning”, a South Korean movie directed by Lee Chang-dong, as his movie of the year.
USA Today reported on Friday that Obama posted lists of books, movies, and songs on his Facebook and Instagram account as part of his personal tradition which began after he first entered the White House.
“Burning” made it to Obama’s list despite not yet being released in American theaters. The movie stood alongside “Black Panther”, “Annihilation”, “Roma”, “Death of Stalin”, “Leave No Trace”, and others.
Among books, Obama picked Becoming by his wife, Michelle Obama, as well as ‘American Prison’, ‘Feel Free’, and ‘Immigrant, Montana’.
In music, Obama selected ‘I Like It’ by Cardi B, ‘Make Me Fee’ by Janelle Monae, and ‘Wow Freestyl’ by Jay Rock.
“It gives me a moment to pause and reflect on the year through the books, movies, and music that I found most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved,” said Obama.
