CHUNGJU, Jul. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — Chungju City in North Chungcheong Province held a promotional event Tuesday for its apples at KEB Hana Bank’s headquarters in Seoul using a vending machine.
The vending machines for washed apples and apple juice was installed in the bank’s main cafeteria on a trial basis in March in cooperation with CJ Freshway Corp., CJ Group’s food distribution and catering affiliate.
CJ Freshway is managing the vending machines with apples supplied by Chungju.
The city plans to install additional vending machines and deploy them at facilities with a large floating population, including airports, in a bid to promote and expand the market for local agricultural specialty products such as apples.
