SAMCHEOK, May 26 (Korea Bizewire) — Roses have returned to Oship Stream Rose Park in Samcheok, Gangwon Province.
The city of Samcheok opened the 2020 Samcheok Rose Park on Saturday. While all performances and events that may involve physical contact have been cancelled, the park’s exhibitions and photo zones will remain open until June 7.
The park was set up on 84,000 square meters of land beside the Oship Stream, home to 160,000 roses of 222 different varieties.
Some 10 million roses at the park bloom every year in May, during which the Rose Festival used to take place. This year, however, the festival was cancelled due to the coronavirus.
Instead, the city decided to open up the park to the public while encouraging visitors to follow social distancing guidelines.
