BUSAN, Oct. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — A tubular traffic circle will be built in Busan to connect roads at different heights.
The two roads in Busan’s Seo District are only 70 meters long, but could not be connected due to geographical difficulties. Drivers had no choice but to detour around 1.4 kilometers just to get to the other side.
One road is 23 meters higher than the other road. A road that connects them directly would be extremely steep.
As an alternative, Seo district decided to build a tubular traffic circle.
At 57-meters long, drivers climb up the traffic circle five times to travel from the lower road to the higher road.
The tubular traffic circle will also have a sidewalk for pedestrians.
