SEOUL, Jan. 7 (Korea Bizwire) — Convenience store chain CU has teamed up with rental service startup Aroundable to launch the “Pick and Pick” rent service at five stores.
Users will be able to rent about 300 items in 11 categories, including gaming consoles, beauty devices, camping equipment and sporting goods. The minimum rental period is three days.
Among the rental items are the Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch, AirPods Pro wireless earbuds, iPad Pro tablet (5th generation) and Dyson hair dryers. They are replaced by new items on a weekly basis to keep abreast with changing trends.
CU operated the service on a trial basis for one month in December last year. Those in their 20s accounted for 80 percent of the users.
The most rented items were smart devices (34.1 percent), followed by beauty devices at 20.6 percent, sporting goods at 17.7 percent, massage devices at 8.2 percent and pet products at 7.9 percent.
