SEOUL, April 15 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. said Thursday that it will release a robot for non-contact disinfection work in the domestic market.
LG’s CLOi UV-C Bot is a robot best-optimized for non-contact disinfection work for buildings with abundant separate spaces, including hotels and hospitals. Its key strength is its ability to carry out non-contact disinfection frequently without a time limit.
The mobility of the LG CLOi UV-C Bot is based on self-driving and obstacle-avoidance technologies.
The robot moves around indoor spaces along the wall and sterilizes the surface of hand-contacted objects by using ultraviolet-C (UV-C) lamps mounted on the right and left sides of its body.
LG stressed that the robot’s UV-C lamp was certified by Britain’s Intertek to be able to eradicate 99.999 percent of harmful bacteria, including Klebsiella pneumoniae, staphylococcus aureus, and bacillus pyocyaneus, within a reach of 50 centimeters.
