SEOUL, Oct. 15 (Korea Bizwire) – Korean car owners now can select most suitable junkyard operators with a handful of screen touches on their smartphones.
Maxmine, a mobile content provider in Korea, introduced an auction-style car scrappage service application, “Carapp” on October 13. The app enables the car owners to choose the best auto recycling center which offers the best price for the vehicle among other junkyard operators.
The app can be used without any registration procedure and car owners can say goodbye to their cars by typing in simple information of the owner (name and phone number) and the car (plate number and make). Most of all, there is no fee generated from the auction.
Existing car scrappage services are usually conducted in the manner in which recycling centers or brokers unilaterally present the estimates, to which car owners have no choice but to take. Furthermore, as most of the work is done by the brokerage agencies, the owners can get lower car scrap value.
Carapp allows only official and credible junkyard operators to bid in the auction excluding unscrupulous brokers. The information of to-be-scrapped cars is instantly sent to the recycling centers and the car owners can select a suitable operator among the bidders. By linking the car owners and operators directly, the app reduces the brokerage fees generated between them and can raise the auction price.
Carapp plans to offer customers’ testimonials on the service of the recycling centers and to raise their service quality as well. The app is now available for Android devices only.
