SEOUL, Nov. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — SK Telecom unveiled a service custom-tailored for wearable devices called “T Outdoor” on November 5. It allows the user to take advantage of voice and data services without a smartphone when going out. The T Outdoor service can be used with a rate plan for communications module-equipped wearable devices.
The service will be applicable first to Samsung’s “Gear S,” which can be used in conjunction with a smartphone through Bluetooth in normal times while being used independently outdoors through 3G connections.
T Outdoor will also feature specialized services such as T-Share and Tranggle Fit depending on circumstances. T-Share is an app made available by SK Telecom to allow incoming calls to the smartphone to be forwarded to the wearable device, and vice versa.
