SEOUL, March 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics Co. has announced the release of the Bespoke Grande AI washing machine and dryer that feature improved eco-friendly and artificial intelligence (AI) functions.
For the washer, Samsung introduced a microplastics reduction cycle that was developed in collaboration with U.S. outdoor brand Patagonia.
The cycle can reduce the creation of microplastics larger than 10 micrometers from clothes during the washing cycle by up to 60 percent.
Based on the principle that a rich foam created by dissolving detergent permeates between fibers to remove contamination, the new cycle reduces wear and tear on the fabric.
The washing machine’s existing automatic detergent input function is upgraded to enable the adjustment of input volume based on the level of cleanliness of recently washed clothes.
The dryer also features an upgraded AI drying function. Its sensor detects the weight and drying speed of the laundry to reduce energy consumption and drying time.
With the AI space dehumidification function, it also can maintain optimal humidity for the temperature of the laundry room.
The selling price is 1,949,000 won (US$1,470) for the washing machine and 2,049,000 won for the dryer.
