CHEONGJU, March 14 (Korea Bizwire) — North Chungcheong Province is planning to offer pregnant women benefits equal to the likes of a national honoree.
The provincial office said Monday it will come up with plans to provide special benefits for pregnant women like traffic benefits, discounts on outdoor/public activities, and providing exclusive booths at financial institutions.
As part of the initiative, an agreement with Nonghyup Bank is expected to be signed next month.
The province will work with city and county officials to introduce parking spaces exclusively for pregnant women and engage with public bus operators to expand the number of priority seats for pregnant women.
Discounts on entry fees at recreational forests and public institutions are also among the planned benefits.
The province also decided to introduce priority financial plans and a kimchi supply service for pregnant women.
The provincial government plans to come up with a provincial ordinance this year.
The province will also assign an extra 60 million won (US$4,560) fund to hold a national prenatal education festival in July.
