SEOUL, Sept. 7 (Korea Bizwire) —Mirae Asset Securities announced on Wednesday the inclusion of two prominent entities, Studio Genius, a domestic content production company, and Solaire Partners, an investment firm, in the Security Token Working Group.
This collaborative effort aims to advance the commercialization of tokenized securities linked to film and drama investment ventures.
Studio Genius, led by director Yang Woo-seok, renowned for “The Lawyer,” is preparing to produce a globally-oriented drama inspired by a popular Korean original comic.
Solaire Partners, established in 2017 as a venture capital firm, has previously invested in notable films such as “Parasite,” “Extreme Job,” and “The Roundup,” among others.
Joining the working group is Treasurer, a luxury collectible piece investment platform. Mirae Asset Securities, in partnership with Treasurer, will explore various ways to utilize tokenized securities, starting with discussions on valuing and commoditizing highly investable luxury collectibles.
Technology companies Coinplug and Zkrypto are also new members of the working group. Coinplug, a pioneering Web 3 technology company, has successfully commercialized blockchain-based certificates for the financial sector in Korea and offers a wide range of blockchain technology and services, including distributed identity (DID), mainnet, wallet, dApp, non-fungible tokens, decentralized exchange, and stablecoin solutions.
Mirae Asset Securities has also expressed its intent to explore diverse applications for tokenized securities and has extended invitations to Coinplug and Zcrypto for potential collaboration within the blockchain space.
Ryu Ji-hae, Director of the Digital Asset Task Force, emphasized, “K-content represents a fundamental asset with the potential for global expansion. We intend to foster ongoing technical collaborations with leading blockchain technology companies.”
