SEOUL, Dec. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korea Professional Football League (K League) announced Friday it will open an exhibition in Seoul celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Titled “K League: The Universe,” the exhibition will run from Dec. 22 to Jan. 31 at Yeongdeungpo Art Square in western Seoul. The show will stay open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.
Likening the K League to the universe, sections of the exhibit will be named in English words related to space.
For instance, the “Galaxy” section will feature K League championship trophies from the past and the present. “Horizon” will feature photographs and video clips showing the evolution of the league launched in 1983. All official balls over the history of the league will be on display in the “Orbit” section.
In November, the league accepted donations of match-worn kits, old match tickets and other pieces of memorabilia from fans.
The league office will also run a pop-up store at the venue from Dec. 22 to 30, selling merchandise celebrating the 40th anniversary, including clothing, fridge magnets, rugs and blankets.
As part of the 40th anniversary celebration, the K League had earlier decided to open its Hall of Fame and honored its inaugural induction class in May.
