SEOUL, Jun. 4 (Korea Bizwire) –Samsung Electronics announced on June 4 the launch of its 2024 lineup of gaming monitors called Odyssey OLED featuring cutting-edge technology, as well as new high-resolution ViewFinity monitors.
The new OLED gaming monitor series includes the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) with 4K UHD resolution and the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD) with QHD resolution.
The Odyssey OLED is the first to incorporate Samsung’s proprietary Samsung OLED Safeguard+ technology to prevent burn-in issues. It also employs the OLED Glare Free feature, verified by safety certification body UL, to reduce light reflection from external sources.
Notably, the Odyssey OLED G8 is equipped with the NQ8 AI 3rd Gen Processor, an artificial intelligence chip that enables 4K AI upscaling for the first time on a Samsung OLED gaming monitor. When using the Samsung Gaming Hub or Smart TV app, content can be upscaled close to 4K quality for an ultra-vivid viewing experience.
The new ViewFinity lineup, consisting of five models, utilizes at least 10% recycled plastic material. The packaging uses adhesives instead of staples for easier recycling during disassembly.
Additionally, ViewFinity introduces an Easy Setting Stand for monitors, allowing quick and convenient tool-free installation without screws.
To enhance work efficiency, the monitors offer flexible height and tilt adjustments tailored to eye level, as well as an integrated KVM switch to control two PCs with a single monitor.
“With the Odyssey OLED G8 featuring our most powerful AI processor yet, we aim to set a new paradigm in the monitor industry,” said Chung Hun, president of Samsung’s Visual Display Business. “Across our entire monitor lineup, we will continue researching proprietary technologies to deliver better experiences to users worldwide.”
