SEOUL, Jul. 18 (Korea Bizwire) – Intelligentsia Coffee, a Chicago-based specialty coffee company, said Thursday it has opened its second global outlet in Seoul to meet a rapidly growing local appetite for specialty coffee experiences.
The U.S. coffee chain opened its first global outlet near Gyeongbok Palace in Seoul in February. The second store is located at Shinsegae Department Store in central Seoul.
“Intelligentsia plans to open one to two more outlets in Seoul within this year,” a Seoul-based spokesperson for the U.S. coffee company said over the phone.
MH Partners, a Seoul-based coffee import and distribution company, operates the Intelligentsia stores in Korea and has the exclusive rights to its coffee products here.
Intelligentsia Coffee is known as one of three major U.S. specialty coffee brands, along with Blue Bottle Coffee Inc. and Stumptown Coffee.
