SEOUL, Jul. 19 (Korea Bizwire) – Korea Post is commemorating 70 years of South Korean postage stamps with an innovative exhibition that blends history, art, and digital technology. The event, titled “Mirror of the Era, South Korean Stamps: Past, Present, and Future Together with Stamps,” runs until July 24 at the Nodeul Island Gallery in Seoul, officials announced on July 18.

The exhibition is divided into four themed sections, each exploring a different aspect of stamps: history, present, digital technology, and documentation.

In the history section, visitors can explore “140 Years of Korean Postal Service Through Stamps,” alongside interactive media art. A highlight is an LED light sculpture of a “bear” mailman, synchronized with video screens to create dynamic, moving content.

The “Approaching Moment” section showcases stamps utilizing cutting-edge transparent hologram technology. Visitors can view holographic representations of stamp subjects and even step into life-sized holographic stamp worlds, offering an immersive experience that brings philately into the digital age.

For those unable to attend in person, the exhibition is also accessible online through the official website, extending its reach beyond the physical gallery space.

Coinciding with the exhibition, Korea Post has issued 576,000 commemorative stamps featuring the royal insignia of the Joseon Dynasty, further highlighting the cultural and historical significance of stamps in South Korean society.
