SEOUL, Sept. 11 (Korea Bizwire) – Volkswagen’s official dealer in South Korea announced on September 10 the launch of a limited edition model that maximizes the dynamic appeal of the Golf GTI. The new Golf GTI Limited Edition is set to captivate enthusiasts with its enhanced aerodynamics and exclusive design elements.
This special edition model features an aerodynamic body kit specially manufactured by Oettinger for the 8th generation Golf GTI. The addition of this kit significantly amplifies the car’s charismatic presence on the road.
Key modifications include Oettinger front and roof spoilers, along with a rear diffuser. These additions not only improve the vehicle’s aerodynamic performance but also complete its dynamic design, according to company officials.
The front spoiler is engineered to reduce the car’s lift, effectively decreasing air resistance. Meanwhile, the roof edge spoiler and rear diffuser accentuate the Golf’s inherently dynamic silhouette, creating a compact club sport look that’s true to the Golf’s heritage.
Adding to its exclusivity, the limited edition sports a Wolfsburg badge, symbolizing the German city where Volkswagen is headquartered.
Under the hood, the GTI model houses the EA888 evo4 2.0 TSI turbocharged gasoline engine, delivering a maximum output of 245 horsepower and a peak torque of 37.7 kg·m. This powerplant is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission.
The vehicle also incorporates advanced driving technologies, including the Vehicle Dynamics Manager, which integrates Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC), and the electronically controlled hydraulic front differential lock (VAQ).
Additionally, it features progressive steering, which combines a variable steering rack and pinion gear with a powerful electric motor.
Limited to just 100 units, the Golf GTI Limited Edition is priced at 52.3 million won, and will be available through Volkswagen’s official dealer network in South Korea.
