SEOUL, Oct. 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Group said Wednesday it has established a joint research body with the country’s leading robotics research institutions to cooperate in future robotics projects.
The automotive group said it has launched the Robotics Joint Research Lab in partnership with Seoul National University (SNU), Pohang University of Science and Technology and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology.
The initiative aims to strengthen the technological competitiveness of mobile dual-arm robots and foster a robust robotics research ecosystem. An agreement signing ceremony was held at SNU.
The universities will collaborate with Hyundai NGV, the automotive group’s industry-academia cooperation body. The institutions will focus on securing top talent and establishing a strong network of experts, according to Hyundai.
“With the cooperation of the country’s leading robotics research institutions, we aim to enhance robotics technology and work towards creating diverse markets in the service robotics sector,” a Hyundai official said.
