SEOUL, Oct. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korea’s main gateway, Incheon International Airport, will begin allowing celebrities to use separate entrances in an effort to manage crowd control and improve safety for all travelers.

The Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on October 23 that it had sent official notices to entertainment agencies regarding new procedures for artist departure access at the airport. The policy is set to take effect on October 28.

Rather than constructing new facilities, the airport will allow celebrities to use existing entrance gates currently reserved for flight crews and pilots, according to airport officials.

“This measure aims to minimize situations that could lead to large crowd gatherings,” an airport representative explained. “When celebrities travel, they often draw large crowds that not only cause inconvenience to regular passengers but also pose potential safety risks. Entertainment agencies can now apply for access to these separate entrances for their artists.”

The decision comes in response to several incidents of dangerous crowding at the airport caused by fans gathering to see popular entertainment figures. In July, the airport faced controversy when private security guards for actor Byun Woo-seok attempted to control crowd movement by blocking gates and checking boarding passes of lounge passengers while shining flashlights at onlookers.
