SEOUL, Nov. 18 (Korea Bizwire) – Korean actor Jung Il-woo has been selected as the new brand ambassador for Bia Saigon Special, one of Vietnam’s premier beer brands, following his enthusiastic endorsement of the beverage on his personal YouTube channel “1 Day 1 Woo.”
The partnership emerged after brand executives noticed Jung’s genuine appreciation for Saigon beer in his YouTube content. On November 9, Jung made a special guest appearance at the Special Night Hanoi event held at the Vietnam National Convention Center in Hanoi, where he met with approximately 1,000 fans.
Event organizers cited Jung’s sincere and warm personality as aligning perfectly with Bia Saigon Special’s brand image.
This collaboration comes as Jung prepares for his role in an upcoming Korean-Vietnamese co-production, “I’m Going to Abandon My Mom” (unofficial translation), scheduled for release in the first half of next year.
The film tells the story of a struggling street barber in Vietnam who, while caring for his mother with dementia, faces his own health challenges and decides to seek help from his brother living in Korea.
Jung will play the role of Jung-min alongside Vietnamese stars Tuan Tran and Hong Dao. The film, which began shooting in Korea last month, is set to complete filming in Vietnam in December. The narrative will unfold across both Korean and Vietnamese locations.
