SEOUL, Nov. 20 (Korea Bizwire) – Min Hee-jin, former CEO of K-pop label ADOR, announced Wednesday she will resign from the company’s board of directors and leave the label.

Min, who was re-elected to the board last month, also said she will take Hybe, the parent company of ADOR, to court for violating terms of its contract with her.

In August, Hybe removed Min as ADOR’s CEO after months of tensions over allegations that she had attempted to take control of ADOR and NewJeans, the face of the label.

Min has denied such allegations and accused Hybe of illegal inspection. ADOR’s board later proposed a compromise, re-electing her to the board as an internal director in October without reinstating her as CEO. Her new term began on Nov. 2.

However, Min contested the decision, insisting she should also be reinstated as CEO. In September, Min filed an injunction demanding that Hybe reappoint her to the top post, but the Seoul Central District Court dismissed her application last month.

On Wednesday, she called her monthslong dispute with Hybe “hellish” and reiterated that she has honored terms of her contract.

“Hybe has not yet acknowledged its wrongdoing and shows no signs of changing,” Min said in her statement. “I have decided that putting in any more effort was a waste of time.”

Min also asked for continued support from her fans in her future endeavors in K-pop, indicating that she will not leave the industry.

NewJeans threatened to leave ADOR last week if Min was not brought back as the company’s CEO.

ADOR said in a statement that it “regrets her unilateral notification of resignation.”

“We will do our best to support NewJeans so it can grow and develop further,” the company added.
