SEOUL, Dec. 27 (Korea Bizwire) — The futuristic Tesla Cybertruck has officially made its debut in South Korea, with renowned singer Kim Junsu receiving the country’s first fully registered vehicle, sparking widespread attention online.
On December 26, multiple online forums and blogs celebrated the arrival of the Cybertruck, described as “South Korea’s first officially delivered Cybertruck.”
In a statement from the car’s importer, it was revealed that Kim Junsu had coordinated the announcement with his agency. To expedite delivery, reports suggest that the vehicle was even transported by air.
Photos shared online show the license plate installed in unconventional positions—offset to the right on the front and lower than usual on the rear, reflecting the truck’s unique design.
Tesla’s Cybertruck, with its angular shape and stainless-steel exterior, represents a bold step in electric vehicle design. Priced between $60,990 (approx. 83.56 million won) and $99,990 (approx. 136.96 million won) depending on the configuration, the vehicle has seen growing interest after an initially lukewarm reception.
Global sales figures are steadily climbing, with Tesla reporting third-quarter revenue of $25.18 billion, an 8% year-over-year increase. Operating income surged 54% to $2.72 billion, while net income rose 17% to $2.17 billion.
South Korea’s interest in the Cybertruck has also been fueled by its association with celebrities. Earlier this year, K-pop star G-Dragon garnered attention when he arrived at the airport in a Cybertruck, even before the vehicle’s official release in the country, sporting temporary license plates.
As the Cybertruck’s popularity grows globally and in South Korea, its arrival marks a new chapter for Tesla in the competitive electric vehicle market.
