SEOUL, Feb. 27 (Korea Bizwire) — Orion Corp. announced on February 27 that its flagship product, Choco Pie, achieved record-breaking sales of over 4 billion units worldwide in 2024, generating revenue of 580 billion won ($404 million). The milestone coincides with the product’s 50th anniversary since its launch in 1974.
Over the past five decades, cumulative sales of Choco Pie have surpassed 50 billion units, with total revenue exceeding 8 trillion won ($5.58 billion). Orion’s international markets accounted for approximately 67% of total sales, contributing 5.5 trillion won ($3.84 billion) in revenue.
Expanding Global Footprint
Orion has aggressively expanded its global presence by establishing production facilities in China, Vietnam, Russia, and India. Today, the company sells 24 varieties of Choco Pie in over 60 countries.
In China, Choco Pie has ranked first in the ‘China Customer Recommendation Index’ (C-NPS) for pies seven times. In Vietnam, the brand is recognized as the top-selling snack, even featuring in traditional ceremonies.
Demand in Russia remains strong, with 1.6 billion units sold in 2024 alone. To cater to local tastes, Orion has introduced 12 Choco Pie variations in Russia, including jam-filled versions.
Meanwhile, in India, Orion has adapted to consumer preferences by launching flavors such as strawberry and mango.
