SEOUL, March 31 (Korea Bizwire) — Korean post offices will begin providing a free photo printing service for digital photographs stored on mobile devices, said the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning on March 30.
Post office visitors will be able to print out digital pictures in any size they want, such as passport or ID size. Visitors can also make post cards with their own photographs. With the official Korea Post Office app, they can also place orders for customized post stamps.
The ministry introduced the service to provide advertising opportunities to small business operators, as users will be exposed to advertisements printed beside their personal photographs. The printer machines will also play commercial videos dedicated to products and services provided by small businesses on the screens while the machines print out pictures.
The official website of the Korea Post Office, www.epost.go.kr and a hotline (1544-8610) will provide further information on branches where the service is available. Business operators who wish to insert their advertisements on printed pictures can call 070-7094-2960.
