SEOUL, Sep. 20 (Korea Bizwire) – Cultural content development company Magic Garden Communications, in partnership with augment augmented reality developer 4DVision, said on September 19 that it would open a dinosaur display “My Friend Dino” at Ilyoung Herb Land, a theme park in the northern outskirts of Seoul.
The show is an IMAX-like film, with raptors running wild and pterodactyls flying in the sky. In order to create vivid images, the developers made use of the patented “immersive scope,” which is a technology that combines virtual reality and augmented reality.
Unlike any other augmented reality technology that must maintain the target image, immersive scope does not require such image, with a high recognition ratio, making it ideal for outdoor augmented reality viewing. With a high tracking speed, viewers can see the images without any time delay.
Ilyoung Herb Land, the venue for the Magic Garden Project, is conveniently located in the north of Seoul, with reputation already gained as a location for a multiple number of high-profile dramas. In addition to the dinosaur show, the Magic Garden Project offers other features such as the indoor augmented reality show, the Garden of Light, camping-style Wagyu beef restaurant Black Marble, and the Play Zone for children.
A Magic Garden Communications official said, “As our Magic Garden Project can offer the visitor a variety of shows and dining opportunities all in one place, we’ve been getting reservation inquiries for corporate parties. Watching a T-Rex right in front of your eye is an exciting experience for grown-ups as well as for children.”
