INJE, July 25 (Korea Bizwire) — Inje County in Gangwon Province announced Wednesday the launch of the 8th annual Misiryeong Healing Road 44-Second Film Festival, aimed at showcasing the scenic beauty and tourism appeal of National Route 44 through short videos.
The “Misiryeong Healing Road” is a picturesque 120-kilometer drive connecting Hongcheon, Inje, and Goseong counties. This “auto olle-gil” (car-friendly walking path) features lush natural landscapes and local landmarks along the famed Route 44.
The contest, open to all South Korean residents, invites individuals or teams of up to four members to submit 44-second videos highlighting the charms of the route or Inje County. Entries that deviate from the 44-second length will be penalized by five points per second.
Submissions will be accepted from July 25 to October 12, with the extended period accommodating both summer and autumn festivals. Contestants may submit up to two entries, using any genre or format—from ads and parodies to travelogues and food reviews.
A total of 17 million won ($12,000) in prizes will be awarded, including a 5 million won grand prize. Winners will be announced in November following expert review and a public verification phase in October.
The winning entries will be featured across platforms including YouTube, Instagram, blogs, digital signage, and LED billboards to promote Inje County.
“We look forward to seeing creative stories and stunning visuals that capture the essence of Misiryeong Healing Road in just 44 seconds,” a county official said.
