SEOUL, Aug. 5 (Korea Bizwire) —Hyundai Motor Co. said Tuesday it has held a commemorative event for the launch of its fandom community in Japan to strengthen its presence and customer engagement in the neighboring country.
The two-day event for the launch of Hyundai Motor Club Japan was held from Sunday at a camp site near Fujinomiya, about 110 kilometers west of Tokyo. The gathering featured various programs for Japanese customers of Hyundai, as well as members of Hyundai Motor Club Korea.
The Japanese fan community is based on Hyundai Motor Club Korea, which was established in 2015 by Hyundai vehicle owners and motor enthusiasts. The Korean club has grown into a community of more than 122,000 members.
Hyundai Motor expects the Japanese club to help enhance its understanding of local customer needs and expand brand experience, contributing to greater recognition in the country following its reentry into the Japanese passenger car market in May 2022.
In his welcome speech, Toshiyuki Shimegi, head of Hyundai Mobility Japan, said the newly formed Japanese fan community “will serve as a driving force for Hyundai’s electric vehicle (EV) development in Japan.”
“Support and constructive feedback from our loyal customers have been a key driver of Hyundai Motor’s rise as a top-tier global automaker,” a company official said. “We plan to continue expanding Hyundai’s global fandom and promote our unique brand value wherever our customers are.”
